I have to say that I haven't noticed quite as many obese people the last few times I've been to the U.S. In my opinion, there's a pretty direct correlation between the strength of a country's economy and the number of its citizens that are obese.
apparently that story was completely wrong. narau is top, followed by a bunch of other pacific island places. and america is still fatter than us. that is according to crikey, which sadly seems to be a more credible source than the smh these days.
In 2007 I made a Grand Romantic Gesture and moved to the other side of the world for the sake of my international boyfriend. In 2008 he became my husband, and the serious work of living and loafing in a new country really began.

I had heard the UK had passed the US on obesity rates. Didn't realize Australia was up there as well.
